DVCC Nominated for Contractor of the Year Award

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., August 20, 2010 – The American Subcontractors Association of Michigan (ASAM) today announced 10 nominees for the first annual Contractor of the Year (COTY) Awards. ASAM members nominated these companies based on bid ethics and practice, safety, jobsite supervision, communication, schedule coordination, project relations, lien processes, administrative procedures, payment terms and quality workmanship.

The nominees are: Dan Vos Construction, Erhardt Construction, Granger Construction, Lakewood Construction, Owen-Ames-Kimball, Pioneer Construction, Rockford Construction, The Christman Company, Triangle Associates and Wolverine Building Group. ASAM members will score the candidates’ performance using the same criteria from the nomination process. Online voting is open to ASAM members through September 17.

The COTY award gives the ASAM membership an opportunity to nominate and recognize general contractors or construction managers who exhibit best practices, professionalism and collaboration with Michigan’s subcontracting community.

Winners will be revealed at the COTY awards event on September 30, 2010. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Goei Center, 818 Butterworth St. SW, in Grand Rapids. The Honorable George Heartwell, Mayor of Grand Rapids, will be the guest speaker. Event details are available at www.asamichigan.net.
