DVCC Selected to Lead Construction Projects for Three Area Manufacturers
Dan Vos Construction Co. has been selected to lead construction projects for three West Michigan manufacturers who plan to expand or renovate their current facilities to accommodate growth.
West Michigan’s leading design-build general contractor said they have already begun work on two of the three projects, which total approximately $50 million. Projects for Bissell, Perrigo and Boar’s Head are slated for completion in either 2009 or 2010 and should result in the creation of an additional over 350 new jobs for the companies and for DVCC.
The projects include: Bissell Innovation Center in Walker. The company that gave us the first vacuum cleaner is renovating a 46,500 square foot warehouse to create a new research and development facility. The Innovation Center will include a “customer experience center,” along with space for the company’s sales and marketing team. DVCC will provide design and build services for the facility, which is valued at $7.4 million. It is targeted to be completed late next year.
Perrigo in Allegan. The nation’s leading manufacturer of generic drugs has selected DVCC as the general contractor to build a 62,000 square foot addition to one of its manufacturing facilities. The expansion, which is valued at $25 million, will allow Perrigo to boost its manufacturing capacity by 10 percent in order to keep pace with market demand. It is slated to be completed by early 2010.
Boar’s Head Provisions in Holland. One of the nation’s leading makers of deli products, Boars Head is renovating and adding approximately 30,000 square feet of space to its expand its deli and meat processing capabilities. DVCC led a master planning study for the company to determine an appropriate growth strategy for Boar’s Head and will provide design-build services for this facility, which is valued at up to $18 million. Work is scheduled to get underway in January 2009, with a targeted completed date of spring 2010.
