Baxter Community Center Receives LEED Certification
Ada, Michigan – Baxter Community Center has received LEED™ certification for the renovation and expansion of its facility on Grand Rapids’ southeast side.
Designed by Schemata, Inc. and built by Dan Vos Construction Company to meet the exacting standards established by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification through the U.S. Green Building Council, the project includes an 8,000 square-foot renovation as well as a new 8,000 square-foot addition that houses the center’s expanded day-care facilities and two new commercial kitchens.
DVCC, a leading design-build contractor in West Michigan, now has five LEED-accredited professionals on its staff. Since the inception of the LEED program, more than 40,000 construction professionals have been certified nationwide.
